BI Basic Training Workshop - Online

Saturday, October 19th & Sunday, October 20th (2019), Zoom Meeting 
9:30am - 4:30pm

 

Join us for a two-day online training workshop on the implementation of autism behaviour plans and an introduction into ABA. Attendees will be provided with a link to log in from your home computer for our live workshop where you will see the facilitator, the slides, and have the opportunity to ask questions.

 

Please make sure you have access to a laptop or computer with good internet connection. 

 

You will leave this course with knowledge and practical tools you can use in the classrooms, or home environment. Past attendees have included, parents, community group leaders, students, educators, classroom assistants and other individuals who work with/support children with an ASD diagnosis. Upon completion of this 2-day course you will be sent a certificate to confirm your attendance.

Day 1
Core elements of discrete trial teaching
Functions and behaviour
Reinforcement techniques
Prompting techniques
Process of teaching from introductory to generalization to mastery
Ethics
The process of accurate data collection

 

Day 2
Antecedent and established operations
Reinforcement assessment of preference
Token economics
Prompting and prompt-fading strategies
Teaching techniques
Analysis of data
Peer play facilitation
Maintenance and generalization of learned skills

Meet your instructor:  

 

Lindsay Parrott is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). She designs comprehensive applied behaviour analytic or ABA programs for students diagnosed with autism in the home, school and community settings.  Lindsay has 12 years of experience working in the field of ABA with students ranging from 20 months to 20 years old in all areas of the autism spectrum.

Lindsay completed a Masters of Education degree in Special Education with a Concentration in Autism and Developmental Disabilities from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Criminology from the University of the Fraser Valley.
