Join us for a two-day training workshop on the implementation of autism behaviour plans. Content includes an introductory and intermediate level of core ABA Therapy teachings. This readies professionals to work on home-based behavioural intervention teams and educates parents and community workers on the practice.

You will leave this course with knowledge and practical tools you can use in the classroom or home environment. Past attendees have included parents, community group leaders, students, educators, classroom assistants and other individuals who work with/support children with an ASD diagnosis. Upon completion of this 2-day course, you will be sent a certificate to confirm your attendance.

Topics to be covered each day include:

Day 1: Introduction to Behaviour Intervention
Core elements of discrete trial teaching
Functions and behaviour
Reinforcement techniques
Prompting techniques
Process of teaching from introductory to generalization to mastery
Ethics
The process of accurate data collection

 

Day 2: Mechanics of ABA Therapy and Behaviour Intervention
Antecedent and established operations
Reinforcement assessment of preference
Token economics
Prompting and prompt-fading strategies
Teaching techniques
Analysis of data
Peer play facilitation
Maintenance and generalization of learned skills

Meet Your Instructor: Fay Yen

Fay is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst with over 14 years of experience in the field of autism.  She has worked primarily with families in private practice from age 2-16 year old.  Fay works and collaborates with family members and school teams to support learning as well as challenging behaviours.

Fay has successfully improved many challenging behaviours including food selectivity, potty training, tantrums, speech, communication, lack of social skills and learning delays in various degrees on the spectrum.  She holds a Masters Degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis from St. Cloud University and a Bachelor Arts Degree in Psychology from Simon Fraser University.
