My name is Lana Caputi and I am a writer, director, choreographer, actor and have dedicated 40 years plus of my life to this art form. Nineteen years ago, our family was blessed with the birth of my nephew Justin Campbell and this is when the world of Autism came into our lives. As a family, we had zero knowledge of Autism and first reactions were to turn away, ignore and just want it all to go away in the blink of an eye. I saw myself doing the same. I desperately needed to do something.

In that moment, the only thing I could offer Justin's parents, Sandra and David was the gift of time so I offered to take Justin into my care and allow them time to themselves with mini-vacations. This is when my life changed. Mistakes and victories all mixed with frequent moments on guard gave me the opportunity to connect, be of service and understand Justin’s world. Such enrichment in my life developed through the challenges of his meltdowns, outbursts and deep belly laughing that today I can say this precious gift of a human being has taught me things I could never have imagined.

On Sunday, December 3rd at 7:00pm, join us at 'A Christmas Spectrum'. This spectacular performance will consist of a medley of delightful Christmas songs featuring top Kelowna/Vancouver voices along with two full choirs of adult and children, a full orchestra, an international dance ensemble with disciplines of ballet, tap, jazz, flamenco, ballroom and freestyle expression. Wouldn’t it be amazing to see an explosion of children with and without Autism, filling the stage in a snow-covered scene playing, singing and dancing.

With video clips, we will journey into the lives of families living with Autism, featuring several families whose documentation will bring a powerful message to the world. And finally, dramatic scenes will be performed bringing the real challenges of the world of Autism to life on stage.

A high end, silent auction will frame the event completely as Drama, Laughter, Enlightenment, Connection will take us through a powerful journey.
