The 2nd annual British Columbia Excellence in Autism Awards will recognize and celebrate the impact of individuals, organizations and groups whose work continues to drive us towards an inclusive society, where people on the autism spectrum can reach their full potential.

The 2019 British Columbia Excellence in Autism Awards will be held at the Goodlife Fitness Family Autism Hub on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 6:45pm.  

Award Categories

  • Volunteer of the Year – awarded to an individual who has positively influenced the lives of individuals, parents and professionals by addressing autism in their community or provincially.

  • Self-Advocate of the Year – awarded to an individual with autism who has advanced the well-being of others on the spectrum.

  • Inclusive Employer of the Year – presented to an organization or company that has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to the autism community through inclusive practices and the advancement of individuals on the autism spectrum.

  • Community Impact – presented to an individual, program or community group that has demonstrated a commitment to creating inclusive communities by championing opportunities for people with autism.

In Memory Of - Remembering individuals from communities across British Columbia who made a significant impact in improving the lives of individuals with autism. Please note there will be no winner announced in this category, but all nominations received will be mentioned during the awards.

Food: TBC

Drinks: All guests will recieve a welcome drink token upon arrival, following this there will be a bar avaliable serving wine, beer and soft drinks.  There will be self-serve water avaliable all evening. 

General: The event will be held in the 2nd floor auditorium at the Goodlife Fitness Family Autism Hub, Richmond.  Access to toilets, outdoor space and relaxing space is also avaliable on this floor. Parking is avaliable free of charge at the venue.
